अल्सर

अल्सर्स म्हणजे जठराच्या, अन्ननलिकेच्या आणि लहान आतड्याच्या आतील आवरणावर आलेले फोड ज्यामध्ये मुख्यत्वे हेलिकोबॅक्टर पायलॉरी नावाच्या जिवाणूचा जंतुसंसर्ग झालेला असतो. जठरामध्ये असलेला आमली द्रव आणि मसालेदार पदार्थ यांमुळे हे अल्सर अजून वाढतात आणि खराब होतात. वैद्यकीय तज्ञ जठरा मधील हा अमली द्रव कमी होण्यासाठी औषधांबरोबर काही उपाय करण्यास सांगतात. काही रुग्णांमध्ये या अल्सर साठी शस्त्रक्रिया उपाय करण्याची आवश्यकता पडते.

शौचा मध्ये रक्त येणे/ ब्लडी स्टुल

मोठ्या आतड्याचा कर्करोग/ कोलॉन कॅन्सर

हा एक अतिशय सामान्यपणे आढळणारा विकार आहे.( कृपया प्रादुर्भाव आणि प्रसार यांचा उल्लेख करावा ) गुदद्वार आणि गुदाशया मधील रक्त वाहिन्यांना सुज आल्यामुळे व त्या फुगल्यामुळे हा विकार निर्माण होतो.

शौचास करताना कुंथने, गरोदरपणा आणि लठ्ठपणा इत्यादी बर्‍याच कारणांमुळे हा विकार उद्भवतो.

Gastroenterology is the medical branch of health science that deals and focuses on the health issues and disorders related to the digestive system.

The Gastroenterology department at VishwaRaj Hospital caters and addresses diseases of the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver. Our gastroenterologist examines, diagnose and treats all the GI disorders. They perform endoscopic procedures to look into the GI tract and diagnose a disorder. In almost all cases, a gastroenterologist will treat all these disorders with just the medicines and non-surgical treatments. Any particular disorder that may need surgery will be then transferred to a GI surgeon.

1. Ulcers - Ulcers are sores that develop in the lining of the stomach, oesophagus or small intestine. Ulcers are caused by a bacterial infection, Helicobacter pylori. The spicy food and the acid present in the food can make these ulcers even worse. Doctors will prescribe medicines to reduce stomach acids. In some cases, ulcers can need surgery for the treatment.
2. Bloody Stool - Experiencing blood in the stool can indicate a serious underlying disease. Bloody stool means that there is some kind of bleeding in the digestive tract. There are different causes of bloody stool like Anal fissure, Peptic ulcers, etc. One must visit a gastroenterologist for this issue and get himself treated on time.
3. Colon Cancer - Colon is located at the end of the digestive tract. Cancer that develops in the colon or rectum is called colon cancer. Symptoms of colon cancer may include bleeding from the rectum, blood in the stool, abdominal cramps, excessive gas, abdominal pain, etc. It is diagnosed with Fecal testing, blood testing, Xray, etc.
4. Hemorrhoids - It is a very common medical condition mostly known as piles. This happens because of the veins in the rectum and anus gets swollen and inflamed. It is caused by a lot of reasons like straining during bowel movement, pregnancy or obesity. In most cases, it can be treated with some dietary changes. While in other cases, surgery may be required to remove it.
5. Acid reflux - It is a strong burning sensation felt in the lower chest area. It is a medical condition in which the acids of the stomach flows back up in the food pipe. This stomach acid is hydrochloric acid that breaks down the food. So, when this acid flows back to the food pipe, a burning sensation can be felt, also called heartburn.
